Member in a Hive Fit Club cold plunge in the Therma Lounge, Scottsdale

Your first cold plunge in Scottsdale

You know that moment you stand at the edge of cold water and your brain starts bargaining? That is most people. The ones who look calm already did this once.

A cold plunge is a short sit in very cold water. Not an ice bath in a backyard tub, not a punishment, not a test of character. You get in, you breathe, you get out. The point is how you feel after, not how long you lasted.

If you have been searching for a cold plunge in Scottsdale because you are sore, foggy, or just tired of feeling flat at 3 PM, this is the generous version of what to expect. No protocol to memorize. No shame if you last twenty seconds.

What actually happens when you get in

The first ten seconds are loud. Your chest wants to go short and fast. That is your body noticing the cold, not a sign you are doing it wrong.

Slow the exhale. Shoulders down if you can. If the shoulders are too much, stay at the waist. Get out the second you want out. There is no scoreboard.

A lot of people describe the minute after as a clean kind of alert. Blood moving. Head quieter. Some feel a little high on it and come back. Some try it once and prefer the sauna. Both are fine.

Who a first cold plunge is for (and who should pause)

It is for the person who just trained and wants a reset. It is for the person who sits at a desk and wants to feel awake without another coffee. It is for the curious person who has watched it on a phone and wants to know if it is as intense as it looks.

Pause and talk to your own clinician if you have been told to be careful with cold, if you feel dizzy or unwell, or if something in your health makes extremes a bad idea. Hive Fit Club will not talk you into the tub. We will show you the room and let you decide.

The three cold plunges at Hive Fit Club

Hive Fit Club keeps three cold plunges in the Therma Lounge at 8275 N Pima Rd in Scottsdale. They sit next to the hot sauna, same roof as the gym.

We keep three plunges at different temperatures. A team member can show you the room on a tour. Start where you are comfortable, and get out when you want out.

Stay short. Walk. Sit. Use the sauna after only if that feels good, not because a reel stacked a contrast sequence. Shower before street clothes.

  • Wear a suit you already own.
  • Bring a towel, or use one on the floor if they are out.
  • Eat something small if you have not eaten.
  • Get out the moment you want out.

How the lounge fits with the rest of the club

The Therma Lounge is included on every Hive Fit Club membership, including Fit. You train on Lift, or you take a class, and you walk next door. You do not drive to a second studio for the cold.

The gym floor in Scottsdale is the same building. Wellness and Premier add the rest of the recovery suite and a provider-led clinical practice when that is the real need. If all you wanted was the gym and the lounge, Fit is the honest starting point.

Fit is about $199 a month on a 6-month term or $299 month-to-month, plus the $99 annual Hive Improvement Fee. Confirm the number on your tour if you want it in writing. We start with a tour, not a cart.

Common questions

Do I need a membership to try a cold plunge?

The kindest first step is a free tour. You will see the lounge, Lift, and Wellness, and you can decide if the club fits. A day pass is another way in when it is offered. Ask on the tour so you get the current option, not a guess from a blog.

How long should I stay in?

Shorter than you think. A first sit is often short. Get out the moment you want out. If you are unsure whether cold is right for you, talk with your own clinician, then book a tour.

How cold are the plunges?

We keep three plunges at different temperatures. Start where you are comfortable. Get out when you want out.

If you want a hand the first time

Come see the room. A free tour is the kindest first step. You will walk Lift, the lounge, and Wellness, and someone will treat you like you already belong, because that is how this club works.

Book a tour or call 480-476-7400.
